When Minnesota's COVID-19 stay-at-home order went into effect this past March, The Cookie Cups made the difficult but necessary decision to temporarily shut down both of our locations to mitigate the spread of the virus. We had no idea how soon we’d be able to reopen or what the future would bring.
During the quarantine, we began brainstorming ideas to pivot our business model to adjust to this “new normal,” including ways to bring our product to a wider audience. Finally, we came up with the idea to create a new product: a home baking kit that could be shipped nationwide.
From our graphic designer to our bakers, our whole team was hard at work during the closure, conducting extensive (at-home!) research and product development to make sure our new product would be exactly right.
While we have since reopened both of our store locations with safety precautions in place, we still wanted to bring the full Cookie Cups baking experience to the homes of families across the country. We are excited to share our hard work with you all, and to officially announce the launch of our Unicorn Cookie Cup Baking Kit!
What's included in a Unicorn Cookie Cup Baking Kit?
The Unicorn Cookie Cups Baking Kit includes everything you need to make and serve 24 mini size cookie cups. In each kit, you’ll receive the following:
- Ingredients: flour, sugar, sweet Belgian chocolate chunks, white chocolate, pink sprinkle mix, pink powder, marshmallows, vanilla frosting
- Hardware: 1 measuring cup, 1 silicone baking pan, 1 mini scoop, 1 unicorn horn mold
- Serving and Extras: 24 mini cupcake liners, 1 unicorn plate, 1 apron
You’ll also receive step-by-step instructions so you can make these delicious treats at home again and again!
Who are our Baking Kits for?
Our baking kits are for all kids age 3 and up who love making, decorating, and eating bite-size treats! You can send one as a gift to your favorite little chefs, order one for a Friday night in with the family, or even buy in bulk for a fun at-home birthday party activity.
Our kits are currently available for pre-order; we’ll be shipping them nationwide beginning this month (July 2020).
Are there other Cookie Cup Baking Kits available?
Right now, we’re starting with our Unicorn Cookie Cup Baking Kit. However, we do have another kit in the works: our Pizza Making Kit!
