A few months ago, The Cookie Cups celebrated the first anniversary of its Wayzata storefront and broke ground on its second location in Chanhassen. We are so grateful to the supporters who have been with us from our humble beginnings, and we are always looking to spread the word to those who aren’t yet part of the Cookie Cups community.

If you’re not familiar with our local bakery, here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get from new customers. We hope to see you at the store!

What is a Cookie Cup?

A Cookie Cup is a cookie shaped like a cupcake. It’s the perfect bite-sized treat for any time of day (and they’re real crowd-pleasers at parties!).

When did The Cookie Cups first get started?

The Cookie Cups started out as an unplanned home baking experiment. Our creator, Nicole Pomije, used a mini cupcake pan instead of a regular baking sheet, and the result was an incredible dessert hybrid! In 2015, Nicole began baking cookie cups in her home kitchen and selling them at local farmers markets and events. This eventually led to the opening of our brick-and-mortar bakery in April of 2018.

Do you only serve sweets at The Cookie Cups?

While Cookie Cups are our “bread and butter,” our Savory Cups are a must-have if you haven’t tried them already. Some of our Signature Savory options include our 3-cheese truffle Mac & Cheese, and our Meat & Potato “Cup” (a homemade meatloaf with BBQ glaze and our garlic red mashed potato “frosting”). Other popular choices are our Asian Chicken Taco “Cup” and “Mom’s Cornbread.” These savory bites are the perfect complement to our sweets.

In addition to our food menu, we serve locally roasted “Cookie Cup Coffee.” Our signature Chocolate Raspberry is a must try! We also carry Rishi Tea, Rishi Chai for Lattes and the perfect hot chocolate to complement your cookie cup craving.

Do you always offer the same flavors?

While we do have several core Cookie Cups on our menu, we also offer some seasonal flavors, new menu items, and special holiday gift boxes. We often announce these on our social media channels, so follow us if you want to be the first to know!

What do you do at your cooking classes?

Our cooking classes are designed to give you hands-on experience creating delicious sweet and savory treats. Each class has a unique, specially-crafted menu, usually focused on a theme or type of cuisine. After you get your cafe drink (included with your ticket), you’ll spend two hours with our knowledgeable instructor, who will provide ingredients and step-by-step instructions for cooking and baking the menu items. At the end of the class, you’ll receive a pack of six Cookie Cups to take home with you! You can learn more about our cooking class experience here.

I know someone who would love The Cookie Cups! Do you sell gift certificates?

Yes, we do! You can purchase a Cookie Cups gift certificate in amounts from $10 to $100. Our gift certificates can be redeemed for any in-store purchase, catering order, or cooking class.
