Hosting a children’s birthday party at home can be a lot of work. Not only do you need to figure out decorations and food for the kids (and their parents), but you’ll also need to plan a series of activities to keep the little ones occupied.

That’s why it’s often easier to book a kid-friendly venue to host your child’s party for you. Instead of rushing around making sure everyone has enough to eat and is having fun, you can leave that in the capable hands of the venue staff. Having a birthday party out lets you relax and engage with your child, without missing a moment of their special day.

If you’re looking for a unique party venue in the Minneapolis area, look no further than The Cookie Cups. We host small, private events for any special occasion right in our Wayzata and soon-to-open Chanhassen bakeries. Here’s everything you need to know about celebrating your child’s birthday with us.

Birthday party basics

A Cookie Cups birthday party means the whole store is yours for the afternoon. When you book your party with us, the bakery will be closed to the public during your two to three-hour private event. You can choose Pizza Making or Cookie Baking/Decorating as the primary activity for your child’s celebration. We can also customize your party fare based on our catering menu.

We can accommodate up to 15 children at each birthday party, with a recommended minimum of six. Depending on the number of kids in attendance, two to four of our dedicated Cookie Cups staff members will be there to facilitate the activities and food service at your event.

Booking your birthday party at The Cookie Cups

Private events must be booked at least 30 days in advance, though we recommend booking as early as possible to ensure your desired date is available. Once you confirm your date with us, we will request a $100 deposit to hold your event, with the balance due at the conclusion of your party.

If you or any of your guests have food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know at the time of booking. We offer a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian options and we are more than happy to accommodate as best we can!

Are there any other ways to celebrate a special occasion at The Cookie Cups?

If you’re looking for a unique way to celebrate an occasion with teens or adults, our Private Cooking Classes are the perfect choice. Whether it’s a birthday, a girls’ night out, a family reunion, or a fun weekend activity, you and your foodie friends can gather in The Cookie Cups kitchen for a private cooking and baking class.

When you book your private class, you’ll work with The Cookie Cups to create a custom menu for your group. You’ll spend two hours with our knowledgeable instructor, who will demonstrate and guide you through the process of making (and eating!) savory and sweet bite-sized treats.

Private class dates depend on store availability and require a minimum of six participants. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. You can learn more about what to expect at one of our cooking classes here.
