Last year, The Cookie Cups celebrated our Navarre bakery’s first holiday season with a dazzling window mural, depicting a cartoon family in a winter wonderland inspired by the Lake Minnetonka area. This year, we’ve continued our holiday tradition with a brand new display, which we unveiled to the public on November 16.

The 2019 holiday window display shows the “Cookie Cup family” on their next holiday adventure in Paris. New York-based designer Jim Cook brought his signature style back to Navarre to come up with four window panels showcasing classic Parisian landmarks like the Moulin Rouge, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Eiffel Tower -- and of course, a Cookie Cups bakery!

Jim traveled to Navarre to bring his new design to life with the help of painter Chase Vreeland. Like last year’s mural, our 2019 Parisian window scenes are full of holiday cheer and whimsical charm. Smiling Cookie Cup characters are shown walking along cobblestone streets with holiday shopping bags, sipping coffee at outdoor cafe tables, and riding a colorful Ferris wheel. Santa and his reindeer can be spotted riding through the sky above the city.

Cookie Cups creator Nicole Pomije was inspired to start this tradition by the famous holiday season window displays she saw when she lived in New York City.

“The holidays were such a big deal,” Nicole told the Laker Pioneer in 2018. “People would flock to Fifth Avenue for the Macy’s Holiday Window Reveal yearly from all over the world. Taking this concept of bringing our customers an experience, I thought I would bring a little big city holiday to our small town.”
