Easter is coming up quickly (April 21, 2019), and if you’re hosting the family gathering this year, it’s time to start planning what to serve. The feast is a huge part of any holiday celebration, but you don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen all day.

Plan the perfect Easter menu by combining some of your family favorites with a few catered dishes to feed your hungry guests. Here are some great ideas for your holiday table.

The Formal Affair

If your family goes traditional for Easter Sunday, you’ll want a dining room table fit to impress. Pull out that fancy tablecloth and dinner napkins, sparkling glassware, and place card holders. Roast up a beautiful rack of lamb, a juicy ham, or cornish game hens, served with scalloped potatoes and haricot verts.

If you put all your effort into dinner, you might want to give yourself a break by getting dessert catered. Order a variety of tasty treats to suit everyone’s tastes, and be sure to plan gluten-free or dairy-free options for any guests with dietary restrictions.

A Kid-Friendly Spread

Will the kids’ table be full at your Easter gathering? Finger foods are always the perfect choice for little ones who are hopped up on Easter candy and still need to burn off the sugar rush.

Choose kid-approved bites like macaroni and cheese, tacos, and pizza. For a special (and fun!) treat, bake some sugar cookies for dessert. Then lay out some spatulas and pastel-colored icing, and let the kiddos decorate their own cookies.

Casual and Cozy Lunch

Friends and family who are more focused on time spent together will appreciate a laid-back lunch that’s full of yummy food and drinks. Go potluck-style and invite your guests to bring their favorite Easter dishes.

As a thank you, you can send everyone home with an Easter basket filled with fun goodies. At our Easter basket baking class on April 14, you’ll learn how to make your own carrot cake, blueberry, and strawberry cookie cups, just like we make them here at The Cookie Cups.

Bite-Sized Brunch

If you prefer to celebrate Easter a little earlier in the day, you may want to have some guests over for a sweet and savory brunch feast. Carrot cake cookie cups, bacon guacamole deviled eggs, cheesy artichoke dip cups, and spinach sunrise brunch cups are all fantastic choices for your appetizer table.

Want to learn how to make these perfect bite-sized cups? Sign up for our Easter brunch class on April 7 -- and if you love them as much as we do, you can order some more for your Easter celebration.

Whatever type of menu you plan this Easter, be sure to set aside enough time for the festivities and fun. After all, holiday gatherings are about good times with good company!
