Want to do something special to celebrate the dads in your life this Father’s Day? There are tons of fun activities to plan with Dad this year, especially if you’re with him for his special day.
Here are some Father’s Day activities you can do together at home to celebrate as a family. As an added bonus, many of these suggestions also support your local small business community!
1. Host an outdoor movie night.
Enjoy the great outdoors by setting up your own makeshift movie theater! Whether it’s using a television from the house or breaking out the projector, you can watch Dad’s favorite movies right in your backyard. Buy some local treats for friends and family to enjoy during the movie and don’t forget to finish the night with some stargazing!
2. Hold a family-friendly competition.
Whether it’s a family 5K walk, a board game night, or an all-out relay race, there’s nothing like some friendly competition! Invite Dad’s family and friends over to compete for prizes such as getting to choose dinner from their favorite local restaurant or who gets the first sweet treat of the night. You can crown the winner with a special trophy or let them have all the bragging rights!
3. Order treats for delivery.
Give Dad a gift that will allow him to put his feet up and enjoy a sweet treat without having to drive anywhere to get it! Cookie Cups deliver to the Minneapolis area through most major delivery services including GrubHub and DoorDash. Check out our array of delicious Cookie Cups flavors Dad will be sure to enjoy. Order them by the half dozen or dozen depending on the size of Dad’s sweet tooth!
4. Plan a weekend trip.
Is there a place Dad would love to go to but never felt like he’s had the time? Take matters into your own hands and plan a weekend trip for just you and dad, or even invite the whole family. Once you’re there, be sure to tour the area including going to parks, museums and local landmarks. Find local eateries and businesses Dad would love to explore and chat with the locals!
5. Throw a catered family party.
Give dad a chance to relax knowing the cooking is taken care of with Cookie Cups catering! Invite the whole family over to try a wide variety of cookie cups. Our menu combines our delicious knowledge of cup shaped treats with appetizers, lunch, sides and dinner items that can be eaten in a few, scrumptious bites! Don’t forget dessert and be sure to check out our gluten free items!
6. Take a stroll downtown to support local businesses.
If you’re not familiar with your downtown area or local main street, take Dad for a walk exploring the local landmarks and find a spot to eat or drink. Not only are you supporting local businesses, you’re also creating new memories with dad.
7. Have a family baking/cooking night.
Make something the whole family will enjoy by having a cooking/baking night with Dad. The Cookie Cups provide kid-friendly baking and cooking kits including the Unicorn Cookie Cup Baking Kit and the Rainbow Ravioli Making Kit. These kits are easy to use for the family and kids will enjoy spending time with Dad while helping him make delicious treats!
